“Someone came up and told me that they had just seen me in a movie. I said – No you didn’t! Yes, they said, Terror in the Aisles. I had no clue.” So Adrienne King recalls about her participation in what was many a horror fan’s sweet nirvana – the compilation film Terror in the Aisles. Many a young fan snuck into the theatres in 1984 to get their fill of this film hosted by terror stalwarts Donald Pleasance and Nancy Allen and containing much forbidden grue strewn fruit – including scenes of King in her penultimate role of Alice in the original Friday the 13th. “I wasn’t even notified or paid,” King recounts.

What a difference 25 years makes! King heads off to LA this week to partake in another limb strewn documentary – but this time with her full consent. His Name was Jason; 30 Years of Friday the 13th begins filming this week and all indestructible, undead, mommy loving fans are in strictest anticipation to witness the results.

Indeed, it has been a grand, exciting year for King as well. Besides her multitude of convention appearances, King recently appeared in her first film since 1982, Walking Distance. “I am happy to report Walking Distance was a wonderful experience,” King exclaims.

The only thing more wonderful than that, perhaps, is direct access to King, herself. Look no further you canoe phobic wonders! King has recently launched a website (www.adrienneking.com) containing memorabilia and paintings (Yep that was her artwork in F13) and consistent updates. Even more than that, King has also joined the legions on myspace – www.myspace.com/adrienneking13. So, yes, you can actually be Alice’s friend. Why, that’s almost as exciting as His Name is Jason itself – if not more so.
At the very least, be sure to frequent these sites often to get the latest news on the documentary and on King, herself.

Now, please excuse me, it seems I’ve got a molten, mongoloid child hot on my back!
