The multi-talented Melissa Bacelar, touted as the next “Elvira”, is making quite the name for herself in the Horror Film genre. Melissa, already a successful businesswoman and prolific writer, is one of the top names in the horror film industry. Her latest project, “PINK EYE”, in which Melissa produces and stars in, will have its theatrical release by Warner Bros. Halo 8 on September 30, 2008. The DVD will be conveniently available just in time for Halloween of 2008. Melissa has also been working on “SKINNED ALIVE”, in which she also stars in, and it will be released through Lionsgate, directly to DVD on August 26, 2008.

The show is directed by two-time Emmy Award winner Rick Schiaffo and is currently in the works of being released onto DVD through Warner Bros. Halo 8, with special behind the scenes features.
Melissa’s first foray into the horror genre was in Troma Film’s “CITIZEN TOXIE: THE TOXIE AVENGER IV”, which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Her other credits include “ADDICTION,” “THIS THING OF OURS” and the award -winning “STRANGE THINGS HAPPEN AT SUNDOWN.” Bacelar executive produced and starred in the film “EAT YOUR HEART OUT.” She recently wrapped parts in two other feature films including ‘HOTEL CALIFORNIA” and “COLUMBUS DAY.”
Melissa continues to work in many mainstream projects and can next be seen on a STARZ Network series produced by Cheryl Hines (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) called ‘Hollywood Residential’, where she plays the recurring character ‘Scarlett Jo Ramson’. Her other TV credits include “Without a Trace,” “The John Henson Project” and a 3-year recurring role on ABC’s “One Life To Live.”
Melissa’s entrepreneurial skills have paid off for her, as she runs a burgeoning entertainment business called Network Studios, which connects actors with casting agents.
