Drew Kochera’s The Hunger

drewkocheraDrew Kochera is 25 and apparently likes horror films. In fact, he likes them so much, he’s made a few. Now, he’s casting for a horror film series that he expects to air on YouTube starting this summer. The movie is called “The Hunger,” and Drew has posted casting calls on sites in the area — including here at STLauditions.com.

He writes: “I am still looking (for) more actors for many different parts as well as many extras (zombies). I am looking for both male and female actors, no specific age or weight.”

So what’s the premise of the movie? Drew gave me some background in an e-mail exchange — and pointed out his YouTube channel for The Hunger.

“The Hunger” is mainly going to be a YouTube based mini-series, then will be put out on DVD after each season is complete. Each episode is going to be between 5-10 minutes each and will follow a very addicting plot. It is about a guy named Cole who wakes up one morning to find that everything seems a little different. After hearing the cities air raid siren sound, Cole soon find that the nearby city has been taken over by the living dead.

This isn’t the first film Drew’s made. The St. Peters man has made a handful of them through his production company, mostly available online, although he sells DVDs of them. In fact, one of his films — “The Babysitter” — was included in the 2006 New York International Independent Film and Video Festival (scroll down to May 11). Here’s the trailer on YouTube.
