Saint Productions offers more than scares!!

Saint Prod., despite being an Indy company, does consist of higher dollar equipment. For our primary filming needs, we use the PANASONIC DVX 100B Pro, and we record on PANASONIC 3CCD DV Tapes. And as for audio, we decided to invest in the Sennheiser MKH70, for top of the line audio recordings. The mic is known for it’s high directivity throughout the whole frequency range, it’s exceptionally low inherent self noise, High sensitivity, and the list goes on. And when needed, we will use the AKG Perception 200, which is great for recording Acousting Guitar, live music, and more!!

REVIEW: The Woods

The Woods
Review by Theron Neel
Based on how much I adore director Lucky McKee’s film May, I was really looking forward to seeing its follow-up, The Woods. Was I disappointed? Somewhat. Am I surprised by the fact that I was disappointed? Not really. I love May so much that almost anything McKee did was bound to not measure up (although his 2006 Masters of Horror episode, “Sick Girl,” comes extremely close).
The Woods starts wonderfully, with a classic storyline well told and spot-on performances. The movie is set in the mid-sixties, and McKee does an amazing job of evoking the period. In fact, the film’s first hour is so atmospheric and satisfying that it’s upsetting when it all seems to fall apart in the last act. But this is a standard problem in all forms of writing. That final act can be a bitch, and as good a director as McKee is, he can’t quite fix this one glitch…..

FIDO Trailer…thanks Apple!!
FIDO
Copyright © 2007 Lionsgate
Directed by: Andrew Currie
Welcome to Willard, a small town lost in the idyllic world of the 50’s, where the sun shines every day, everybody knows their neighbor, and rotting zombies deliver the mail. Years ago, the earth passed through a cloud of space dust, causing the dead to rise with a craving for human flesh.
A war began, pitting the living against the dead. In the ensuing revolution, a corporation was born: ZomCon, who defeated the legions of undead, and domesticated the zombies, making them our industrial workers, our domestic servants - a productive part of society.
ZomCon would like the people of Willard to believe they have everything under control… but do they? Timmy Robinson doesn’t think so. At eleven, Timmy already knows the world is phony baloney - Mom and Dad just won’t admit it. Now ZomCon’s head of security has moved in across the street, and Timmy’s Mom refuses to be the only housewife on the block who doesn’t have a zombie of her own. When she brings a zombie servant home, Timmy discovers a new best friend, and names him Fido. And even though Dad has a bad case of zombie-phobia, Timmy is determined to keep Fido, even if he does eat the odd person…

REVIEW: The Scarlet Letters
Review by TheAngryPrincess
“The Scarlet Letters” was a short film that really hit home for me.
I know what it is like having some scumbag put something in your drink then encouraging your already buzzed self to down it so his ball less self can take you home and screw you while your head is screaming no but your mouth can’t open to say ANYTHING and all of your appendages have lost all their normal functions. Fortunately for me I had a friend help me home instead of having the big bad wolf like Paul eat me up for dinner. He paid his dues for that stunt with a few broken ribs while instead I envisioned me going over to his house to feed him his own nasty balls!

Black Sheep in Theaters
Black Sheep is due in theaters on June 22. This oddball horror comedy from down under is basically about cute fluffy sheep. Well not so cute after some sort of experiments and crazy new breeding program. Winner of numerous awards this flick has been getting good reviews all over the festivals and it looks surprisingly good to me as well. Horror comes in all sizes and shapes now…even sheep!
Check out the synopsis, stills from the movie, and trailers below…
Synopsis:
Terrified of sheep and dosed up on therapy, Henry Oldfield (Nathan Meister) returns to his family’s farm to sell out to his older brother Angus (Peter Feeney), unaware that something baaaad is going on: Angus’ reckless genetic engineering program.
When a pair of inept environmental activists release a mutant lamb from Angus’ laboratory onto the farm, thousands of sheep are turned into bloodthirsty predators. Along with farmhand Tucker (Tammy Davis) and greenie girl Experience (Danielle Mason), Henry finds himself stranded deep on the farm as his worst nightmare comes to life.
Battling their way to safety the intrepid trio discover there’s worse to come: one bite from an infected sheep seems to have alarming effect on those bitten …
With Angus acting suspiciously sheepish, a delegation of international investors gathering at the homestead and a ravenous flock descending from the hills, Henry must find the farmer within to wrest control of the farm from his monstrous brother, defeat an ovine invasion and save New Zealand’s pastures green.

REVIEW: Broken
This indie film was made on a budget of only $8000 and still carries that classic film shine.
There is nothing that screams out “We Have No Money†like a lot of films out there, it looks very professional and if you weren’t told this fact I really believe you could not tell the difference.
Alex Ferrari’s “Broken†is a 20 minute short that uses intense visual imagery along with many special effects shots that will blow your screen up thru out the entire film.
I will say that each of the characters reminded me of a comic strip action hero come to life, everyone had strong stand out personalities besides Bonnie who seems confused on why she is even there.

Road to L - il mistero di Lovecraft
Before reading the rest of the review which will inevitably contain potential spoilers, I will suggest that Road to L is maybe best viewed with as little prior knowledge of the film’s events as possible. What I will also say is that this is essential viewing for all fans of H.P. Lovecraft.
Those who have read Lovecraft’s works will be more than familiar with the Cthulhu Mythos; tales of dark alien Gods, existing long before mankind, still slumbering in the watery depths, and of the cultists who worship them in ancient rituals, awaiting their terrible re-awakening.
Lovecraft fans will also be aware that outside his main body of work, the author frequently corresponded with other writers within his circle and often kept journals of his life. The Road to L centres around the discovery of one such journal, thought to possibly be that of Lovecraft travelling from the USA to the remote area of the Po delta, northern Italy, between May and July 1926.

Psychological Horror Thriller ‘Farm House’
Alliance Group Entertainment Starts Pre-Production of The Psychological Horror Thriller ‘Farm House’
Mike Karkeh Set To Executive Produce Alliance Group Entertainment’s Latest Offering, “Farm House.”
Los Angeles, CA, May 15, 2007 — Having recently completed production of the highly-anticipated action-thriller “Hotel California,” Alliance Group Entertainment today announces the pre-production of its psychological horror thriller “Farm House.”
With the recent success of horror films such as “Disturbia,”– which relied more on plot than the use of big name talent to drive moviegoers to theaters in large numbers to support the film–Alliance Group Entertainment feels confident that the plot for “Farm House” will be just as appealing to fans of the horror/thriller genre.

Weird Japanese News
Well apparently people in Japan are starting to re-enact some of the gruesome scenes from The Guinea Pig Series.
Severed limbs and body parts are showing up around the island and some kid walked into the police station carrying his mothers head! I guess he didnt like her too much, or he thought it just looked like a good trophy or something.

New Site for Mr. Brooks
Synopsis:
"All human beings…are commingled out of good and evil."
- Robert Louis Stevenson, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde
Consider MR. BROOKS. A successful businessman. A generous philanthropist. A loving father and devoted husband. Seemingly, he’s perfect. But Mr. Brooks has a secret — he is an insatiable serial killer, so lethally clever that no one has ever suspected him — until now.
Academy Award winner Kevin Costner stars as Earl Brooks, a man who has managed to keep his two incompatible worlds from intersecting by controlling his cunning, wicked alter ego Marshall (Academy Award winner William Hurt). But now, as Mr. Brooks succumbs to one last murderous urge, an amateur photographer (Dane Cook) witnesses the crime. Suddenly Brooks finds himself entangled in the dark agenda of an opportunistic bystander, as well as hunted by the unorthodox and tenacious detective Tracy Atwood (Demi Moore). Can Mr. Brooks outsmart his adversaries and conceal his shocking double life from his wife (Marg Helgenberger) and daughter (Danielle Panabaker) or will someone expose his crimes and his identity once and for all in this unpredictable and electrifying new thriller.
