PICK ME UP - MASTERS OF HORROR - LARRY COHEN

“Pick Me Up” was ok, I mean the idea of two serial killers colliding on the same path of peole finally ending up against each other was kinda cool. Wheeler, the truck driver who liked to pick up passengers and then slaughter them.

While Walker who was a young dimpled cowboy type lookin as good as Brad Pitt in “Thelma and Louise”that seemed to be more into torture. A bus breaks down in a remote desert type area where Wheeler pulls up and offers to help some of the passengers get to the rest stop where they could wait while waiting on the bus getting fixed.

The Bus driver is required to stay with the bus so most of the passengers cop the offered ride while one couple stays with the bus, and Stacia the bitter divorcee walks to the nearest motel with her switch blade close by. Wheeler is older with his pale blue eyes and grey hair…he reminds me of “Archie Bunker” from “All In The Family”, I think it was the way he delivered his lines or maybe it was just the way he just sounded..who knows.

I liked them toying with each other, but hated certain comedic parts that made this episode turn into something that was just plain out dumb. I think they could of done a way better job with it…but you be the judge of that.
