J-Horror – Global Terror

I tell you what, some of the best horror films now are coming from Asia. More specifically from Japan. J-Horror as they call it (and don’t ask me who they are) is some of the most original and intriguing horror movies I have seen yet. Not only do they really seem to put time and efforts into the plot, stories, and characters, and all of them are visually striking. The images and cinematography are absolutely the best.

Most people are familiar with some of the staple J-Horror classics, such as The Grudge, Audition, Ringu, and the Eye. But even some from the more obscure directors and people that the western worlds has never heard of are just as good if not better than some of those titles I just mentioned. It seems that the Japanese have some kind of spooky secret that no one in the west seems to know about. Granted some of my favorite horror movies are the American ones, from the good old days (80’s), but just taking a look at some of the trailers for the upcoming J-Horror flicks, and I might have to change my mind.

Here is a list of trailers and article URLs from the one of the most comprehensive websites for obscure (and often Asian) films out there, Twitch.net. If you want to know something about the other half of the world and how they seem to be making some of the best films (even non horror) then you need to head over to TWITCH.
